Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
Why would any player with an inkling of ambition stay? Most of the players have been sold a lemon. Imagine the spiels given by Sullivan. Probably with Anderson , Haller and the like have got the zig.

Their own fault for a lack of due diligence.

Sven - Little Alan Ball was great playing for Blackpool and started peddling backwards pretty quickly when he moved 'up' to Everton.

If this true then surely someone at the club would have known and selling Diangana was not only pointless it would also mean we've sold the best two young homegrown players at the club.

Payet could be considered right all along. He might have seen, just like the rest of us, that we were not going anywhere. Ngakia probably left because he would not want to be a part in the biggest circus in town with a clown running it. Forget about the rumours as to why or him being greedy.
Rice will leave. It is a fact. I love the time we had with him and regret that he was unable to fulfill his ambitions. Nothing against Rice, only sad to see the great players coming through the ranks leaving.

Payet was right all along
everyone should send him a
apology letter.
As for Rice Chelsea would be a good fit for his furture no one can denial that.

The spunk brothers will have told lampard to submit an offer 4 days before deadline day then up it every day until 1 hour before the window closes - “We had to accept, he wanted to leave and now we have no time to buy a replacement”.

Perhaps it’s wishful thinking, but this source reeks of shit stirring wind up to me.

Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
I’ve struggled to think of a player who has played for England and then been bombed out by a top 6 club who has then revitalised their career at a ‘lesser’ club.
There are plenty around who are in that boat of being shown the door like these two & Jones, Lingard & Shaw at Man U
Does anyone think they are going to have the mentality to up their game at a smaller club rather than sulking?

Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
There is some logic for players like Barkley or Loftus-Cheek to take a step down to a club like West Ham, especially if they have ambitions to rekindle their international careers. They will get much more time on the pitch at West Ham rather than on the bench at Chelsea. Mind you, I reckon Rice could end up spending quite a bit of time warming their bench.

Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
Why would he hand in a transfer request or try to force a move when there hasn’t been a bid?
This is simple really if Chelsea match our valuation he goes. And who would blame him.

Pee Wee 7:53 Fri Sep 25
Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
He will back his ability to be a success at Chelsea.

He will think we are likely to get relegated as our owners have hamstrung us from the start.

He is a Chelsea fan.

He’ll earn more money.

He’ll have a better chance of winning things and playing in bigger games and testing himself against the wolves best.

As much as I don’t think he has done what the opening post says - I think he will go, and I won’t blame him be bit.

Apart from being a fan of West Ham - I’d see no incentive to stay here.

If true this really is no surprise.

Like Simon said,he's young,a far more sucsessful club ( refuse to call them big) with bigger ambition than us show an interest so there's only one way its going to end. Chuck in the fact that our club is an absolute clusterfuck at the moment and you cant blame the kid.

Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
If Rice does do a Payet and try and force a move then I'll be very disappointed in him.
He can of course submit a transfer request. He hasn't and I'm sure his teammates wouldn't think highly of him doing that.
Chelsea won't wait for him though. They have enough money to just go and buy someone else.
It might well be this is his chance but what sounds like a dream for him personally could turn to a nightmare if he isn't a regular starter and better than who they have. Look at the raft of youngsters who have done ok there but are now barely getting game time with the star signings coming in.

He could become a club legend by staying here and performing. Could just be a another statistic at Chelsea.

If Rice posted a picture on his Instagram of himself in a Chelsea shirt with the caption - ‘can’t wait to leave the West Ham chapter of my career behind me’. I’d still give him a clap on his return

Sven Roeder 7:35 Fri Sep 25
Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
Who knows how close it is but with the amount of smoke around I would imagine someone from Chelsea or on behalf of Chelsea has spoken to Rices agent & terms have been mentioned & sounded out as acceptable
I think we all know Rice is leaving at some point and given the state of our circus I wouldn’t blame him (& any other player) for trying to leave for anywhere else.
We are just a dismal laughing stock as shown by Sullivan’s interview
An utter car crash

chelmsfordhammer 7:34 Fri Sep 25
Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
richyp, we sold Diangana three weeks ago to raise money for signings, enlighten me as to how many players we've managed to sign in that time. A normal club would have plenty of time to make a signing if they sold Rice but we aren't a normal club while Sullivan owns us.

Any Old Iron 7:29 Fri Sep 25
Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
The only reason that Rice would go is if Sullivan accepts an offer. So it's down to him to say no. If he doesn't block it then the hatred towards him will escalate and he would be better off selling the club rather than Rice.

Its only a matter of time. If I was Rice I'd be off like a shot. The club isn't going anywhere with GSB in charge.

If Rice has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, before a fee has been agreed, I will eat my hat!
